You’ll be picked up from your hotel by our English-speaking driver and, if you’re joining a shared group tour, you’ll begin your tour in our modern air-conditioned minibus. We’ll head towards the Atlas Mountains, a mountain range stretching around 1,600 miles (2,500 kilometers) across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. Our first port of call will be Kasbah Ait Ben Haddow, located on the southern slopes of the High Atlas Mountains in Ouarzazate province. Ait Ben Haddou, a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco, lies along the former Sahara-to-Marrakech caravan route.
After our visit to the Kasbah we’ll travel to the city of Ouarzazate, and it’s here you’ll be able to walk the same streets of some of your favorite movie stars. Many famous Hollywood blockbuster films were shot here, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, The Living Daylights, and many, many more. A visit to Atlas Film Studios is always very popular and, for a small entrance fee of just 3 euro, visitors are usually amazed at both the historical beauty and uniqueness of this World Heritage Site. This fee is not included in your tour price and entry to the studio is at your own discretion.
In the afternoon we’ll make our way through the Draa Valley, where you’ll experience some extraordinary scenery, with beautiful oasis and fabulous landscapes. Make sure you have your camera at the ready! At the end of this first day we will meet up with our camels, and those wishing to enjoy a camel trekking experience will ride to our secluded desert Berber camp.
Your Overnight Stay at Our Secluded Desert Camp
This will be a night to remember! You’ll enjoy a delicious evening meal and a welcome morning breakfast. Please keep in mind that you can upgrade your overnight accommodation to a luxury desert camp, complete with shower; however, this must be done at the time of booking your tour.
On the second day of your desert tour we’ll return to the desert city of Zagora, where once again you’ll experience the stunning scenery as we travel through the Draa Valley. As we head back to Marrakesh we’ll travel through the Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakesh at approximately 6 pm or 7 pm.
