On the first day of your 4 day Marrakesh to Fes Desert tour we’ll leave Marrakesh by 8 am, and our adventure together will begin in a very comfortable, air-conditioned minibus (our private tour guests will travel in a 4 x 4 air-conditioned vehicle). Make sure your cameras are charged and ready to go, because our first main stop of the day will be at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, lying along the former Sahara-to-Marrakesh caravan route. We’ll then travel to the beautiful city of Ouarzazate, home of the Moroccan film industry. From Ouarzazate we’ll tour the scenic Draa Valley as we make our way to Zagora. We should arrive in Zagora by late afternoon where we’ll unwind and spend a little down-time, before the real fun starts.
It’s here that our camel trekking expedition will begin, and we’ll mount our camels ready for our sunset trip across the sand dunes. Be prepared for a memorable evening at our secluded Berber camp, which involves enjoying a traditional Berber meal, sitting around a bonfire, and being entertained by local musicians. You may decide to retire to your tent, or you may choose to sleep under the stars; but whichever you choose, we guarantee your evening at our Berber camp will be a night to remember.
On day two you’ll awaken to a hearty Berber breakfast prepared by local nomads, witness a magnificent sunrise over the sand dunes, and again experience camel trekking as we travel back into Zagora. Our adventure will continue as we travel to the city of Ouarzazate where we’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the many cafes, after which we’ll change vehicles ready for the next exciting instalment of our adventure into the Dade’s Valley.
The second night of your tour will find you enjoying a comfortable private room with ensuite bathroom at a guest house in the heart of Dade’s Valley. In these picturesque surroundings you’ll enjoy a beautiful evening meal and a satisfying breakfast in the morning. You’ll now be prepared to move on to day three of your tour.
Following a leisurely breakfast we’ll make our way to the simply-beautiful Dade’s Valley, before travelling on to Todra Gorge. Todra Gorge will be one of the highlights of your trip, because this beauty spot is simply amazing. We’ll enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes on our way to Merzouga; which is where we’ll again meet up with the camels and begin our trekking through a magical evening sunset to our secluded Berber camp somewhere in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Another traditional Berber evening meal will be followed by an evening spent either in a Berber tent or out under the beautiful starry skies. Before heading off in the morning we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast together.
On day four we’ll continue our camel trekking experience as we journey back to Merzouga. As we travel you’ll experience sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, an experience every bit as exciting as a sunset. On the final leg of our adventure we’ll head to Fes, which will begin with a hearty breakfast at a hotel and a comfortable taxi to take you right through to Fez. We’ll enjoy lunch on the way, and arrive in Fes between the hours of 5 pm and 6 pm.
